Your Data, Your Control
We respect your right to delete your account and associated data. You can request deletion through the app or by contacting us directly.
Option 1: Delete via the App

Open OBDAssistant on your Android device.

Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right).

Scroll to Account section and tap "Delete Account".

Confirm deletion when prompted. Your account and data will be queued for removal.
Option 2: Delete via Email
If you cannot access the app, send an email to support@obd2assistant.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account so we can locate and process your request.
Option 3: Delete Website Community Account
If you have a separate website community/forum account, contact us at support@obd2assistant.com with your community username and the email used to register.
What Gets Deleted
- Your user account and authentication credentials
- Vehicle profiles and diagnostic scan history
- AI chat history and generated reports
- Sentinel monitoring configuration and baselines
- Community forum account and associated identity
- OBDIndex data contribution preferences
What May Be Retained
- Billing records: Transaction history may be retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
- Legal/fraud records: Data required for ongoing legal matters, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.
- Anonymised/aggregated data: Data that has already been anonymised and aggregated into the OBDIndex dataset cannot be individually removed, as it no longer contains any personal identifiers.
- Community posts: Forum posts may be retained in anonymised form (author displayed as "Deleted User") to preserve discussion integrity.
Processing Timeframe
Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete.
Important
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Your cloud account data, community profile, and subscription will persist until you explicitly request deletion.
If you have an active subscription, cancel it through Google Play Store settings first. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription.
