Safety Warning: Do not troubleshoot OBD connections or interact with the app while driving.
Ensure your ELM327 adapter is plugged in and your ignition is on (engine running or ACC). Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair the adapter first (PIN: 1234 or 0000). Then open OBDAssistant and connect. If using a cheap/clone adapter, consider upgrading to a genuine OBDLink or Vgate device.
Some vehicles (especially pre-2008 or certain manufacturers) do not broadcast VIN over OBD-II. You can manually enter your VIN in the vehicle profile settings.
Ensure the adapter is connected and engine is running. Some vehicles take longer to respond. If it stalls, try disconnecting and reconnecting the adapter, or restart the app. Clone adapters are a common cause of incomplete scans.
The AI requires an internet connection. If responses are slow or unavailable, check your network. AI usage may be limited based on your subscription tier. If you see "AI unavailable," your daily/monthly analysis quota may have been reached.
Reports require a completed scan with data. Ensure you have storage permission granted. If PDF export fails, try clearing the app cache or ensuring sufficient device storage.
Subscriptions are managed through Google Play. To cancel: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → OBDAssistant → Cancel. For refunds, use the Google Play refund process. If your subscription isn't recognised, try restoring purchases in app settings.
